A few years ago I was talking about autism with somebody I had met and they advised me to read the blog Stephs Two Girls. Being relatively new to the online world of autism I set about reading it, and little did I know I’d become friends with the author, and then get the chance to do a podcast interview with them!
What struck me about Steph’s blog at the time was not only was she was talking about autism in girls, but she was also writing about something called PDA (or Pathological Demand Avoidance) I had never heard of it before, and found it fascinating as it opened my eyes even more about autism.
Then a couple of years ago I asked Steph to contribute a post for my blog, and even now it’s still one of my most widely read posts! It seems there are so many families out there whose lives are touched by PDA, yet it goes under the radar of most people
