My So-Called Disorder: Autism, Exploding Trucks, and the Big Daddy of Rock and Roll

"Being identified as autistic at an advanced age is a revelation-an "aha!" moment of the first order. It's like being told, at sixty-five, ""But mon ami, you are French! You did not know?"" Suddenly, and for the very first time, the accent, the beret, the funny car, and your weirdly intense interest in Jerry Lewis all make sense."" Peter O'Neil had just such a "moment" after a forty year legal career, a second marriage, three kids, a granddaughter, seven unusually solitary years of college, and a lifetime of "special interests." O'Neil tells his story with humor and grace, and makes the case that autistic and otherwise neurodivergent people bring different ways of seeing and understanding to the workplace and are valuable and necessary to any human endeavor.

Differentiating Autism and PANS/PANDAS Including help with recognition and diagnosis: For parents and professionals

This book has been written by a 14 year-old autistic with PANS girl, assisted by her autistic with ADHD mum who is a Certified Naturopath. We hope that you will find the answers you seek and that it will help you. We are both proudly autistic. We wrote this book because we’ve seen that most people are confused about what autism is and what PANS/PANDAS are; what are the differences and similarities. Everyone, from doctors, teachers, therapists, psychologists, parents and the general population is confused about the conditions and do not understand fully where autism ends and where PANS/PANDAS begins. We have come across mistakes so often that we decided that we need to share our knowledge, insight and lived experience.

One Who Thinks Differently: Poems and Essays on Autism

This is a collection of creative non-fiction. The stories and poems are written by a woman who was given a late diagnosis, at the age of 40, of Asperger's. These essays and poems describe what it was like for her both before and after realizing that she was on the Autism Spectrum and what ways she could best navigate a world in which she was different but nevertheless as valuable as any other being. The author hopes this collection will be positively affirming for others who have ASD or are otherwise neurodivergent. She also hopes this book will help members of the community and family members to better support people with Autism. The author was also diagnosed with PTSD, in no small part because of a failure to recognize that she had ASD and she hopes others will experience greater understanding and support with the aid of this book.
