SNEHALAYA CHARITABLE TRUST is founded by a parent of a mentally challengend person. It is a trust registered in the year 2006 under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. We are also registered as an associate member of Parivaar - National Confederation of Parents’ Association (For persons with Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and Multiple Disabilities). We are also registered with the National Institute of Mentally Handicapped, Secunderabad. We have obtained 80 G certificate and hence can accept donations. Our accounts are audited every year. The purpose of our NGO is to keep the Mentally Challenged Persons engaged since they are normally in Special Schools till the age of 18 or some schools do allow them to remain till 25 years of their age. After Special Schools they have no options & are languishing at home doing nothing and wasting whatever skill they have learnt in School & quite possibly may also fall into bad company.
