Samantha Stanton
Sam has a passion for working with children and has worked in the paediatric sector since 2010. She began her paediatric experience treating children with cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, ADD/ADHD and developmental delays having worked at a public special needs school based in Port Elizabeth South Africa. In 2012, she completed her training in neurodevelopmental therapy which she values in grounding her understanding of normal development. Sam thereafter moved to Cape Town South Africa and became a part of the occupational therapy team at Step By Step OT Practice based at Reddam House School. Whilst working there, she completed her Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI) training, and has gained experience in administering the SIPT assessment tool and treating learners with various sensory processing disorders. Sam believes in early intervention and found her experience of running classroom fine motor strengthening groups with the preschool learners at the school to be rewarding in building the learners confidence and skills. Together with supporting the parents on their childās journey through therapy, Sam thrives on facilitating each child in their sessions on creating their own unique playful world in which they feel empowered to become the true āsuperheroāsā they are.
