Claire started AIM Occupational Therapy for Children in 2009. She has now grown it to the team it is today including 11 Occupational Therapists and 3 administrators. Services are now provided from Wembley, Joondalup, Forrestdale, Gosnells, Rockingham and Mandurah. Claire now provides clinical services part-time and manages the business part-time.Claire’s background includes receiving a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) with First Class Honours from Curtin University (2008). Her Honours project involved investigating a potential role for Occupational Therapy in an Australian Mother Baby Unit. In 2010 Claire presented this research at the World Federation Conference in Chile and at the State Occupational Therapy Conference.She is able to provide services under NDIA, FaHCSIA, Medicare (including Better Outcomes in Mental Health Care). She is a developmental and mental health Occupational Therapist who has worked predominantly with 3 – 17 year olds including Developmental Coordination Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, Dysgraphia and Sensory Processing Disorder. Claire has participated in several mentoring programs worldwide.She has completed a variety of Professional Development courses and is a member of Occupational Therapy Australia Ltd and the Australian Occupational Therapy Association. In 2017 she was involved in a working party to develop a paper proposing a role for Occupational Therapy in the assessment and intervention of students with Developmental Coordination Disorder and students with Dysgraphia. She has assisted in the supervision of 15 fourth year students from Curtin University.When she is not working she loves spending time her son born December 2017, her husband, family and friends as well as attending a variety of group fitness classes and shopping.Her passion is to provide the highest quality of services possible from AIM Occupational Therapy.
